PSI employees may engage in outside employment as long as those activities do not adversely affect performance of their PSI jobs, do not create a conflict of interest or the appearance of such, and do not violate applicable laws and regulations. Employees engaged in outside employment may not utilize PSI facilities, resources, property, telephones, equipment, or staff in support of such activities without the approval of the Director. Outside employment is any activity that may result in remuneration. Advanced written approval should be obtained when outside employment activities may appear to be a conflict of interest. Service activities for NASA, and other funding agencies, for which honoraria are paid, are not considered outside employment for this purpose.
